Same day denture repair so you never have to go without.

Just like natural teeth, dentures need care and maintenance every day. Cleaning and maintaining your dentures is a must for keeping them looking and feeling good. But sometimes, dentures need repairing and that’s where your denturist at Centre Street Denture Clinic can help. Denture repairs are needed for different kinds of damage, including a crack in the base or a chip in the teeth, or even a tooth coming loose from the denture. In many cases, these issues can be repaired over the course of a few hours.

Contact us and we will assess the damage and come up with a solution.

Denture Relines

Over time your jaw bone will shrink and your dentures will fit differently. As it becomes loose, it can cause discomfort. When this happens, it may be time for a denture reline. Denture relines can make an incredible difference to your comfort level. Our denturist takes an impression of the tissues in your mouth and then adds a new acrylic base to your dentures. Relining your dentures is recommended every one and a half to three years to keep them fitting comfortably and correctly. Our denture relines are done on site in our Calgary clinic, typically at the first appointment of the day and then returned to our patients by the end of the day.

Don’t wait to repair or reline your dentures. If there are any problems, we are happy to help!

Things that may indicate you need a denture reline:

  • Dentures feel loose
  • Food gathers under the denture
  • Getting more sore areas than normal
  • Air feels trapped under your denture

Q&A

How much does a repair cost?

The cost of denture repair is dependant on the extent of the repair, if reinforcement needs to be added, if teeth need to be replaced, if impressions/moulds need to be taken, etc.

What is a denture reline?

Relining consists of adding new pink base material to the tissue side of a denture to ensure a proper fit. Your denturist needs to take an intra-oral impression inside your existing denture to complete the reline. Relining affects only the fit of your denture, it doesn’t change the appearance or address any wear of the denture teeth. Relines are necessary when tissue changes occur due to resorption (shrinkage) which can be due to things like weight loss, loss of teeth, loss of bone/tissue, disease or illness.

How long does it take to reline a denture?

Relines can usually be done in the same day. We will book you in for one of our first appointments to have impressions taken with your dentures and return it to you at the end of the day.

How much does a denture reline cost?

The cost of relining your dentures depends on whether we simply reline a layer of acrylic to refit your denture or replace the entire base. The quickest way to know a specific detailed cost is to book a free, no-obligation consultation at Centre Street Denture Clinic.

How long does a soft reline last?

Soft liners are applied to the tissue fitting surface of your denture base and they function like a shock-absorbing cushion while you chew. Soft liners can be applied to new or existing dentures. Because of the porous nature of soft liners, they may need to be replaced more often.
